The monument is one of Rome’s most famous landmark, located at the Piazza della Rotonda, also very famous and loved by tourists, the central vein of a lively quarter made from a web of narrow streets where the rest of antic Romanity and the modern world lead a daily life together. In the Antic World, the place was a part of Campus Martius, a military training area at the north of the Capitoline, in the mouth of Tiber River. Pantheon’s construction went back to year 27 B.C., but the monument was completely restored under Hadrianus (also written as Adrianus) who dedicated the temple to seven deities of the seven planets in the ancient religion of Rome – Pantheon would later undergo another restoration at the times of Septimius Severus and Caracalla.
