The Eternal City, in its best meaning as the Urbs, the metropolis of Roman Emperors, Home of the Popes and the capital of the present day Italy is one of the most visited places in the world, where travelers from all countries and all time come to stay, for awhile or forever. It’s the axe of a civilization who ruled the whole continent, who brought its institutions far beyond the Mediterranean sea and who had sailed on so many lands, leaving there some monuments which still have no equal until today, the city of art comparable to none other, an alltime favorite for visitors, pilgrims, artists, scientists, while Rome is indeed an enormous cave of ideas, trends, tastes and fashions, a city filled with parks and gardens, with gigantic ruins and famous temples, with paintings and statues whose glory touches and moves one who sees it, Rome is the Caput Mundi – Capital of the World, the words themselves reflect a deeper meaning that nobody can exactly define how much time one would need to really discover, understand and know Rome.
