Roma Gallery invites you to its virtual group exhibition entitled “Personal Matters”, starting Monday February 8th, 2021. The works will be exhibited on the gallery’s webpage and social media platforms in the days to come.
On view at the exhibition will be drawings, preparatory sketches and models of works that document the nascent idea of a personal matter.
Drawings – accomplished artworks in their own right which provide a view inside the mental mapping of the artist-creator. The viewer will come face to face with “primal” pencillings of George Bouzianis (1885-1959), which fulfil their function by composing the screams of human suffering.
Preparatory sketches – artworks that describe with scientific precision the detailed instructions of how to not only construct, but also study an electrical circuit for the sculptural installation “Telelumiere” by Takis (1925-2019) in the 1960s.
Models – works often made out of cheap materials, comprising “images of a world where tragedy and violence rule”, as Daniil (Panagopoulos) has mentioned.
